Activities
Winter
Traditionally winter is associated with snow when we talk about Cerdanya. Puigcerdà is very close to the ski resort of Masella (www.masella.com), La Molina (www.lamolina.com), Font-Romeu (www.font-romeu.fr), Lles(www.lles.net), Guils(www.guils.com), Les Angles (www.les-angles.com) and many others (http://www.cerdanyavirtual.com/estacions-esqui-cerdanya.htm). Other activities that you can do in winter are snowshoe excursions, ice skating at the Puigcerdà sports center, etc.
Spring
Magnificent time to make excursions in the mountains and reach the great peaks of the valley such as the Puigmal (2911 m.), The Carlit (2921 m.), The Puigpedrós (2913 m.). Perfect time also to walk, make bike routes and enjoy the intense green color in the landscapes. It can be a good time to take the Yellow Train and visit the spectacular historical set of Vilafranca de Conflent.
Summer
Ideal for those who seek to escape the summer heat. Warm days and cool nights to enjoy the various popular festivals. In Puigcerdà there are three remarkable festivals: "El Roser" (the biggest festival of the town that is celebrated the third weekend of July), the Lake Festival, (festival that takes place around the Puigcerdà lake, where the crossing to swimming of the lake, the parade of floats and the castle of fires in the lake, the penultimate weekend of August is celebrated) and the celebration of the Bell Tower Festival (celebrated on September 8 and ends with a castle of fires in the Bell Tower) .
Autumn
There are plenty of forests to collect mushrooms in Cerdanya. Another interesting event is the horse fair. Thousends of people come to Puigcerdà to see the best horses. It's also a good time for picture lovers because forests are changing a lot theirs colour.
